Overall I am really happy with my purchase of the Ampeg SVT 3 I would have it any other way, I paid a good amount of money for this, and I take good care of it and im hoping it last me a really long time.
I've owned both versions the combo and the head and both have been really consistent in how they sound. There has been some problems with the jacks the last time however, they've been replaced and now the amp seems to be fully functional. Great metal amp for super heavy and thrash sounds! Maybe even better for Meshuggah type, dro...
I really like this amp for what it is. It's so darn simple and sounds so great. With the right pedals you can get nearly any tone and it's all going to sound in the vintage ballpark, smooth and warm yet clear and full of life. The cleans are the best point, they are the warmer alternative to a fender and are generally more jangly...
The blue-diamond pattern tolex sets it- and you- apart, visually, as does the blue pilot light (I only wish the pilot was on the front, so it could be seen by the audience.) Few amps this size- both dimensionally and watt-output- have a 12-inch speaker (or even room to install one,) but this one does, which helps it bring the tone. <br ...
One of the best amps for tight metal! Thick and sizzly and tight at the same time! Can range from clean to Pantera-esque metal to black/death metal! Great for the super chugga chugga riffs! Also very very loud! I've owned both the head and combo and figured that the combo would be a more compact version of it, but it's actu...
I pretty much consider it a fender twinish amp that is alot cooler because its not a fender! People see it when i'm on stage and ask what the heck is that? Are you playing a bass amp? No, no simple corporate stooges that will buy what ever nickleback tells them too. Its a 1969 amp that I got for a quarter as much as other vintage amps, that ...
The Ampeg B2R is a pretty inexpensive way to get a great bass head. It's no longer being made but wasn't stopped being made all that long ago, so they should definitely be available on the used market for those interested. The B2R could definitely be a nice find for someone looking for a quality Ampeg bass amp but might not have a ton of cash ...
Again for what it was designed for it does very well. It cannot be a normal everyday distortion pedal or first go to OD when playing in a band, but it will color your tone in a way that a normal amp or OD pedal will never do. I suggest using this pedal sparingly and within the right situation. Given the chance to buy it again I woul...
