I've used Daddario's for 8 years, just recently switching to daddario coated. I've gone through damn near every brand I can think of and always gone back to daddario. When these cobalts came out I decided to give them a try. My concerns were longevity and tone. They're brighter than most strings and rougher like daddario's so that was a plus...
I've used these strings for about 8 years now and they've always been my favorite. I've gone through Ernie Ball, DR, GHS, Dunlop, Elixir and these have always lasted the longest and sounded the best. They stay bright and sound new for weeks if not months. They have a rougher feel than most which I happen to like, I like to be able to really f...
In 1985 I started playing with heavy picks and light strings 9-42. By 2002, I changed to light picks and heavy strings, the ZW 10-60. I have a Gibson Gothic Studio Les Paul from 2001. I saw Black Label Society in a local bar supporting the disc Stronger than Death. The venue was small as the band was not yet established; I was rig...
These strings i felt were suprisingly good. I can't really say if they do anything as advertised because...they don't actually advertise that these strings actually DO anything different from regular strings? Better pitch and definition and in lower tunings? On a 10-46 gauge? I don't think it matters what you use, if you're tuning low, you don't...
Since I do not have a lot of time for my personal guitars nowadays I have decided to switch them out for the longer lasting Elixir coated strings. Not knowing which style to choose I decided to test out both the Nanowebs and the Polywebs. The Polywebs are the original style of coated strings from Elixir. They are like if you coated a finished st...
Since nowadays I play so many guitars my personal guitars have to go long times without maintenance. I recently decided to try out the Elixir coated strings the Nanowebs and the Polywebs. I used two guitars and equipped them with each of the different types of strings from Elixir to test out the longevity and tone from the string with the differ...
The DR Strings Pure Blues 11-50 are a set of electric guitar strings that I recently purchased to string up my Schecter Ultra III guitar. I hadn't used these strings before getting them as the guy at the guitar store recommended trying them out as a lot of people there were digging them. I don't get too fussy when it comes to strings, but I do...
These are the strings I like to use on my shred guitars or guitars with tremolos. My 10-60 Zakk Wylde strings would be too much on a 25.5 inch scale guitar with a floyd rose on it so I use slightly lighter strings and I am able to get good low E tension which is most important for me. I can get by with any kind of flop on any string apart from t...
The GHS Zakk Wylde Signature boomer strings were my preferred set of strings for as long as I could get them. When I was playing very intensely my primary tuning was D and the more tension I could get on my low strings the better. When I was a little kid I remember stareing at the Zakk Wylde GHS adds in magazines and marveling at how thick his l...
Nice clear, precise, and crisp tone. Bright on the treble, but not overly so. They're very warm on the bass strings, but they still have some punch and bite. Very easy to string, and easy to fret. The tension is great. Not too loose, and not too tight. Anything under Drop D and they're really floppy in my opinion. Too floppy for my tastes anyway...
