Amplitube 3 is an amp modeler. It's actually my favorite out there right now. Granted, nothing is ever going to replicate the sound of a great guitar amp, at least not yet. Amplitube 3 admittedly, does occasionally sound a bit grainy and vanilla, but when I grab my DAW to do the rest, I can usually cover it all up in a mix. I'm not a big guitar ...
If you're a fan of Jimi Hendrix, do yourself a favor and just get a real Marshall. There's no amp sim out there that can truly replicate that cranked Plexi sound. The closest you can get is the Axe-Fx, and those things cost big money. They also take some time to truly dial in. This software is just half-assed and not really worth trying out.
While it may be cool for awhile to have this modeler in your iPad, it' s really not that great sounding. It can work for a portable jam station, but aside from that, it's pretty un-inspirational. The speakers built into the iPad suck, so you're not going to get a good built-in sound, and the special cable you gotta drag with you is a pain. I'...
The program is thin, buzzy and pretty sterile. It might work in some sort of grindcore or experimental hardcore punk/crust band, but there's no way I could get it to work for the type of metal that I play. It just sounded too fake and felt even worse. There are better free options out there for those that want to try them.
The effects and amp sims are decent, but decent is about as good as it's going to get. They're far from stellar, and there are better modeling solutions out there. If you're willing to try out some of the free programs, I recommend giving them a try. Just get some sort of impulse loader, and you should be good to go.
If you're looking for some sort of amp modeler out there, I recommend the many free solutions. Not only do they cost nothing, but they also sound better. Just get some sort of impulse loader for your DAW and you should be good to go. I can't really recommend this software, but I've heard some decent tones out of it from other people, so I can...
Overall, the expansion isn't too bad. There are some decent samples, and it can deliver at times. However, I've used built-in synths that sound a bit better. Because of that, it's kinda hard to recommend. If you already have a solid DAW that comes with a nice set of VST synths and samples, this might not be worth getting. However, if your D...
