The DOD 260 Direct Box is a simple analog direct input box for use in the recording studio or on the stage. It has two 1/4 inch inputs and has an XLR output to send to your audio interface or console. It is not in rack form as it is a box.

The configuration of the DOD 260 Direct Box couldn't be any easier. There are parameters or things to control, you only need to simply plug your instrument into the 1/4 inch inputs and send an XLR cable from the output to either your console or audio interface, depending on what you have. I have never seen a manual for the DOD 260 Direct Box, but it is easy enough to use that you definitely don't need the manual if you don't have one. Setting this DI box up couldn't be easier.

The sound of the DOD 260 Direct Box is pretty good, and will accurately portray whatever signal you have being run through it. While it isn't necessarily too big sounding, it isn't tinny or thin and works great for a slew of different applications. I have used the DOD 260 Direct Box for recording bass guitar, acoustic guitar, and a few other stringed instruments with pick ups and I can't complain at all about the sound that I with this DI box. While it doesn't sound especially crisp or blow you away with its sound, it definitely is good at what it does.

I've been using the DOD 260 Direct Box for about three or four years and I have found it to be a nice DI box. It sounds good and is extremely easy to set up and use. The price of the DOD 260 Direct Box is quite cheap, making it a great choice for the home studio owner who needs a few DI boxes, but doesn't want to spend too much cash. While I'd rather have a Countryman Type 85 DI box over these, the difference in price makes the DOD 260 Direct Box a worthwhile option. Overall, definitely worth a look for home studios and professionals alike.
