I am always cautious when it comes to getting studio in ear headphones especially when they cost more than 100 dollars like the Westone UM1’s do. But they are perfect for live sound and performances, we have been using them for a about a month now and we love how great they sound and even more importantly we love how comfortable they are sitting in our ear. They have a “True-Fit” sound that will give you the best in ear experience. I have not had a pair of in ear monitors that where this comfortable and with a great sound like the Westone UM1 has. The Westone UM1 has an Earphone Precision Interface Cable on it which is basically just a fancy term for a reinforced cable that makes it very durable and high sound quality.
I have had these in my ears for a while, and at first when I first started using them it seemed like they were going to be too big for the inside of my ears and I thought that it would irritate me after about 30 minutes of having them in there. I have had several in ear headphones that are sort of too big and tight when they are in my ear and it gets very uncomfortable after about 30 minutes. But with the Westone UM1 that was not the case, at first they were uncomfortable but then it didn’t even feel them anymore.
Knowing what I know now I would make the same choice over and over again. We already own a few pair of these. They are well made and built to last, they cable is well made and I don’t see it getting shorted out or anything happening to it. I can see these in ear headphones lasting use many uses and many years as long as we don’t lost them because it is easy to misplace something this small.
